* Pick-up from homestays and hotels in Dong Van between 08:00 – 09:00 AM, setting off on a journey that promises inspiring discoveries.
🏞 Trekking to Po Lo Village
* Begin by trekking along local footpaths used daily by residents, climbing a 2 km steep trail that leads into Po Lo – a traditional H’Mong village perched high on the mountain. Here, life is lived in harmony with nature despite the constant water scarcity, as locals rely solely on rainwater for their needs.
🌲 Through Pine Forests & The Windy Pass
* Continue trekking through lush pine forests, descending to the area known as Windy Pass – aptly named for its strong gusts. From this vantage point, gaze down into the valley where a small Giay ethnic village lies, and even glimpse a section of the Nho Que River across the border with China.
* Enjoy a pause to take photos and refresh with a drink if desired.
🏡 Visiting Thien Huong Village
* Trek onward to Thien Huong Village – an ancient settlement over 100 years old of the Giay people, famed for its traditional earthen-walled houses with yin-yang tiled roofs and a magnificent ancient banyan tree.
* This village offers a rare glimpse into age-old architecture and local customs.
🌾 Through Khai Hoang & Ma U Villages
* Continue through Khai Hoang – a settlement established through pioneering efforts to expand territory, trekking along agricultural trails flanked by vibrant cornfields and picturesque terraced rice paddies.
* Arrive at Ma U, a traditional H’Mong village, where you’ll pause for a picnic lunch amid tranquil surroundings.
🚶♂️ Return to Dong Van
* After lunch, trek approximately 3 km back to Dong Van, passing through some of the most scenic terraced fields in the region.
* The tour concludes around 15:00 – 16:00 at Dong Van town.
